...SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL POSSIBLE FOR THE HIGH CASCADES TODAY...

A COLD LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER BRITISH COLUMBIA THIS MORNING WILL
MOVE OVER WASHINGTON AND OREGON LATE THIS MORNING AND AFTERNOON.
THIS SYSTEM WILL COMBINE WITH STRONG ONSHORE FLOW TO PRODUCE
NUMEROUS SHOWERS ALONG THE CASCADES TODAY.

SNOW LEVELS AROUND 6000 FEET THIS MORNING WILL LOWER TO AROUND
4500 FEET THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. RELATIVELY WARM ROADS
SHOULD PREVENT MUCH MORE THAN MINOR SLUSHY ACCUMULATIONS ON THE
PASSES. HOWEVER...SNOW AMOUNTS WILL INCREASE RAPIDLY ABOVE 5000
FEET WITH 5 TO 8 INCHES EXPECTED NEAR 6000 FEET.

MOTORISTS AND OUTDOOR ENTHUSIASTS PLANNING ACTIVITIES IN THE HIGH
CASCADES SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR WINTRY WEATHER TUESDAY. IT WOULD
ONLY TAKE TEMPERATURES BEING A COUPLE DEGREES COOLER THAN EXPECTED
FOR SNOW TO HAVE MORE SIGNIFICANT IMPACTS ON THE PASSES AS WELL...
SO IT WOULD BE BEST TO BE PREPARED FOR WINTRY DRIVING CONDITIONS ACROSS
THE PASSES.
